I found thee not, O Lord, without, because I erred in seeking thee without that wert within.

Maybe Gurpreet Singh Ji's point was to show to the fanatics that besides the perfection of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, other's who don't know of the Guru also have inspiration and love for God. A novel concept huh?
A Sikh should never write or do anything they wouldn't wish for their name to be attached. If you want to criticize somebody, including an inspired Sikh such as Gurpreet Singh Ji, then at least have the courage to say who you are.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
I don't normally post on blogs but i was deeply moved by the arrogance of this comment. There are children who get beat to death everyday, women who are burned over dowries, youth being lost in drugs and this person has nothing better to do then post negative comments regarding an inspirational message? I think that person needs to get out of their computer chair and go live a little. Maybe then they will see that people like Gurpreet are on the higher end of the sangat spectrum. When the Guru Nanak that you speak of, was enlightened enough to include words of people from other religions in the Guru Granth Sahib, maybe you should open your eyes aswell.

Both of you claim to know the reality behind the message, but you don't have an iota of love, you can explain what you have just said with love and see its effect, rather than trying make yourself sound right or as an authoritative figure on the topic. I said it because I felt that way and it came to me, parvaah naahi kisay keri baajh sacche nah, I don't have anything to hide, you don't like what I have to say too bad, maybe I just have too much faith just for what Guru Sahib says, obviously the message is the same, but I don't know the person who wrote it, but I do know who wrote Gurbani, and maybe I literarlly take Gurbani as God's word rather than taking and applying the philosophy of it. Go on, satisfy your ego of replying back to me with what YOU think it should be, because I've definately satisfied mine, Vaheguruuu, this is why its pointless discussing and debating, vaad virodh salaahne vaade aavan jaan. Bhul chuk muaf.

oh well...
both prabhu and jaspreet kaur made good points...it's just sad that in today's youth, we are stuck in our judgmental states and cannot be open to the possibility of their being greater knowledge and deeper understanding of gurbani than our own...

Jasdeep Singh,
Maybe you're also stuck in your judgemental state to pass such a judgement, go do your dhan guru nanak kacchi baani, you're the type of so called "sadh sangat" people that are breaking the panth away from gurmat principles and stuck in your own little world, you talk about pyaar you don't have the slightest clue about pyaar, talking about cutting off a singh's head when you see him next, get a life.

How is Dhan Guru Nanak kacchi baani? That last comment was stupid, just stupid , very simply and plainly stupid!

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh,
the sad state of our youth is shown once again by anonymous' last post. To take a personal shot at myself or any other individual is one thing, but to take a shot at a sadh sangat originating by the selfless seva of guru ji's piyaray gurmukhs, mahapursh...that takes a whole new level of ignorance...
i wonder what gurmat principles i'm being broken away from...
just to reiterate for all the sangataan reading this blog...
at a sadh sangat samagam this is what the schedule is
5am - 6am Naam simran of gurmantar
6am-7am punj baaniyaan nitnem
7am - 7:30am breakfast
7:30am to noon: asa di vaar followed by akhand kirtan
noon: bhog, guru ka langar and break
3:30pm to 4:30pm naam simran
4:30 to 5pm gurbani vichar
5pm to 5:30pm tea break
5:30pm to 9pm rehras sahib and akhand kirtan
9pm - ardas, hukamnamma, sukhasan, guru ka langar
these pavitar sadh sangat samagams take place almost once or twice a month in cities across north america...
at each city, all langar and sleeping arrangements are done by seva of local sevadaars...all one has to do is to get themselves there to enjoy laahaa..and even in that..they may call sevadaars and be helped with arranging rides..etc..
i do not see what gurmat principles are being violated here...all i see is a sangat that is following the hukam of guru ji...through the following shabad

Fourth Mehla:
One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.
Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar.
Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased.
Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name.
One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind.
That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is kind and compassionate - upon that GurSikh, the Guru's Teachings are bestowed.
Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of that GurSikh, who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it. ||2||
so if anyone has a problem with a sangat that holds samagams where sangataan are encouragaed to get up at amritvela, gather in guru ji's hazoori to do naam simran, and then throughout the day continue to listen and sing guru ji's pavitar dhur ki bani....i would say...please don't take that up with the sangat becasue sangat can only follow guru ji's problem...if such an individual has a problem, he/she can take it up with guru ji...
to address the issue of kachi bani: dhan guru nanak is singing the praises of guru nanak...many mahapursh have taught sikhs to sing this...baba nand singh ji, bhai vir singh ji, prof puran singh ji, sant ishar singh ji raresahib walay, sant attar singh ji (mastuana valay) bhai jaswant singh ji (bauji)....and on top of all of that...

Pauree:
Destiny has brought together and united the body and the soul-swan.
He who created them, also separates them.
The fools enjoy their pleasures; they must also endure all their pains.
From pleasures, arise diseases and the commission of sins.
From sinful pleasures come sorrow, separation, birth and death.
The fools try to account for their misdeeds, and argue uselessly.
The judgement is in the Hands of the True Guru, who puts an end to the argument.
Whatever the Creator does, comes to pass. It cannot be changed by anyone's efforts. ||4||
For the record I didn't write the last comment. Vaaheguru.
